Newnes Day Tour
Newnes Day Tour
If “Adventurous” is your middle name then this is the day out for you. We meet at the Zig Zag Railway in the Blue Mountains and straight away leave the dirt behind. To start off we visit a little known quarry for some stall recovery and side slope practise before we tackle anything too serious. This will also give us an opportunity to have some morning tea and have a quick look at the advantages and disadvantages of the varying vehicles that we will have on this trip. We head to the western side of the forest where we will encounter our first descent and first set of rock steps. Next we pass the coal mines and discover a track that’s really going to test your wheel placement. We head down Blackfellow’s Hand Trail after lunch for a spectacular drive through ancient rock formations and finish up at Lithgow at around 3:30pm.
